Alexis Sauceda-Quintero, Yesenia Cuenca, and Kelly Tseng (all School of Life Sciences) are highlighted as "trailblazers" in videos on the Nevada STEM mentor network, sponsored by the NSHE system sponsored programs and EPSCoR office. This website showcases contributions to STEM research, education, and mentorship. Undergraduate students Cuenca and Sauceda-Quintero are research mentees of Tseng, an associate professor. was a recipient of undergraduate research fellowships from the National Science Foundation, NV EPSCoR, and the School of Life Sciences REU programs. She is also an author on a peer-reviewed publication from the Tseng laboratory group. was a recipient of undergraduate research fellowships from the National Science Foundation (NV EPSCoR) and the National Institutes of Health (NV INBRE) and has twice presented research studies at the annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students.  seek to identify the genes that stimulate organ and tissue regeneration with the goal of applying this knowledge toward developing regenerative therapies.
