Andrew Murtishaw (Psychology) received a given by the International Behavioral Neuroscience Society (IBNS) to present his research at the IBNS 24th annual meeting, which will take place in Victoria, Canada, in June. Murtishaw, who works in professor Jefferson Kinney's Neuroscience Laboratory, researches several risk factors of Alzheimer's disease, including diabetes mellitus and disrupted insulin signaling. He will be presenting his research on the effects of peripheral insulin disruptions on learning and memory and subsequent changes in various protein levels within the brain that are related to Alzheimer's disease.
