Asma Awan (Social and Behavioral Health), Kara Radzak (Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences), and Manoj Sharma (Social and Behavioral Health and Department of Internal Medicine), published a paper titled, "A Theory-Based Approach to Explain the Correlates of Safe Physical Activity in Pregnant and Postpartum Individuals," in the Journal of Health and Social Sciences. The study highlighted the utilization of Multi-theory Model (MTM) of health behavior change to analyze the level of PA behavior in pregnant and postpartum individuals and recommended the safe PA levels to support and increase the likelihood of adherence to PA behavior in this unique population. Sharma is the originator of the Multi-theory Model (MTM) of health behavior change.
