ºÚÁÏÍø

Briceida Hernandez-Toledo (Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies) and Meghan Pierce (Psychology) were recognized as Outstanding Graduates at spring commencement. Both were students in the College of Liberal Arts. Hernandez-Toledo earned a bachelor of arts degree in gender and sexuality studies. A first-generation college student and McNair Scholar, she revived ºÚÁÏÍø's Chicano student organization, MEChA, and worked with the Center for Social Justice. She will pursue a doctoral degree at UCLA. Pierce, who earned a Ph.D. in experimental psychology, does research focused on post-traumatic stress disorder. This year she served on 19 university committees and completed a term as president of ºÚÁÏÍø's Graduate and Professional Student Association. She will begin a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University in the fall.
