Booklist and School Library Journal recently published nice reviews of an illustrated nonfiction book for kids written by Jarret Keene (English) called (Bushel & Peck Peck). Booklist says "this engaging book briefly describes 25 individuals (or groups) who were WWII heroes, ranging from the well known to the more obscure" and "appealing color illustrations and photographs accompany the easy-to-read and interesting profiles that may spur readers to do further research." SLJ says the book provides "an excellent introduction to the people and time period," serving "as a starting place to learn about WWII and an introduction to new historical figures."
