Noehealani Antolin, Selam Ayele, Blessing Imade, Ana L. Reyes, Kavita Batra, and Deborah A. Kuhls (all Medicine) presented a poster titled, “Risky Driving and Mental Health Among U.S. Veterans: A Rapid Review to Inform Injury and Disability Prevention,” at the North Las Vegas VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System’s 100 Years of VA Research Poster Presentation and Scientific Roundtable on May 14, 2025.
The team’s rapid review explored how mental health conditions—such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), anxiety, and dementia—are associated with risky driving behaviors among U.S. veterans. The findings underscore the need for continued research to inform veteran-centered approaches to mental health care, transportation safety, and disability prevention.
