Drs. Michelle Skuba Gray, Ian Isby, and Jamie Baydoun (all Medicine) recently delivered an oral presentation, ‘"Low Fidelity Pork Rib Ultrasound-Guided Serratus Anterior Nerve Block Simulation" at the annual Western Regional Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) conference held at Stanford University. This low-cost animal tissue simulation of human anatomy can serve as training model for ultrasound-guided regional nerve blocks, which can be helpful in managing pain in patients with traumatic chest wall injuries, such as multiple rib fractures.
