Simon Gottschalk (Sociology) is doing work on the effects of computer-mediated communication that is being recognized increasingly both nationally and internationally. He has been interviewed by Channel 8, FOX National News, Las Vegas Review Journal, Las Vegas Weekly, and , and cited in the and the and American Life Project, among others. He was the keynote speaker at the third Italian conference on Symbolic Interaction Theory, which took place at the University of Salerno. His work on hypermodern theory also resonates with French sociologists; He has been invited to become an associate at the Paris-based Centre de Recherche sur L'Individu et la Societe Hypermodernes. He also has just received a book contract from Ashgate Publishers.
