What
Nearly 800 nuclear science, engineering, radiochemistry and health physics students and professionals from around the nation will converge on the ºÚÁÏÍø campus to learn from leaders in the industry and attend a job fair with more than 50 local and national employers.
Job demand for nuclear engineering is increasing, as nearly half of existing engineers will retire in the next five years and technology advances create new jobs, according to industry experts. Students who graduate from related programs take jobs in research and development in national laboratories, nuclear plants, defense-related jobs as well as the growing field of medical imaging and radiation therapy.

The career fair will be held 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 13 in the ºÚÁÏÍø Student Union.

The ºÚÁÏÍø student chapter of the American Nuclear Society will host the conference. ºÚÁÏÍø students competed with top universities from around the country, such as UC Berkeley and MIT to host the conference for the first time in ºÚÁÏÍø history.
Conference attendees will participate in tours at the Nevada National Security Site and the Las Vegas headquarters of Varian Medical Systems, a leading company in accelerators and digital detectors for X-ray imaging in medical, scientific, cargo screening and industrial inspection.
ºÚÁÏÍø is one of only a handful of universities nationwide to offer a doctorate in radiochemistry, positioning the university as a leader in this field. One hundred percent of ºÚÁÏÍø's radiochemistry doctoral students find jobs after graduation.
