Alan Simmons (Anthropology), distinguished professor emeritus, has just published a major monograph on his archaeological investigations in Cyprus. The book, published by Studies In Mediterranean Archaeology (no. 156) was edited by Simmons and includes contributions by several individuals, including former Anthropology Department graduate students鈥
On February 7, 2024, Shane Kraus (Psychology) was part of an expert panel, Sports Betting and Gambling Addiction, hosted by SciLine and American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Teddy Uldricks (History) presented a virtual lecture on "Soviet Foreign Policy during the World War II" to faculty and students at the University of Montreal (Canada) on 7 February 2024.
Graduate students Richard Chang and Aldo M. Barrita, along with their faculty advisor Gloria Wong-Padoongpatt, (all Psychology) published an encyclopedia entry titled, "Race (Racism)," in Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of Sociology, 2nd Edition.

Michelle Tusan (History) published 鈥淟ausanne鈥檚 Legacy or How not to end a War鈥 for the Council for Global Cooperation.
Taylor Flaherty and Jennifer Byrnes (both Anthropology) published an article titled, "Technical Note: Individuals identified by radiographic comparison: A sample of demographics and the region of body used for identification in Clark County, Nevada, USA (2017鈥2020)," in Forensic Science International.
Katherine Gaddis, Katharine Woollen, Liam Johnson, Taylor Flaherty, and Jennifer Byrnes (all Anthropology) published a new article titled, "A structural vulnerability approach to older adult suicides: Trends and potential impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in Clark County, NV (2017鈥2021)." This paper was published in Forensic Science鈥
Jeff Schauer (History) published "Arming Zambia in the Dark Forest of International Politics: Kenneth Kaunda, Britain, and Arms Diplomacy, 1963-1971," in the first of two special issues of the Zambia Social Science Journal dedicated to assessing the life and legacy of the late-Kenneth Kaunda (1924-2021), president of Zambia between 1964鈥
Gary Totten (English) presented the keynote address, "Edith Wharton's Geographical Imagination: Notes from the Travel Writing," at an online event celebrating U.S. writer Edith Wharton's 162nd birthday, hosted by the Transatlantic Literary Women project at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and the Edith Wharton Society.
