Amy Reed-Sandoval (Philosophy) published "Are Exit Controls for Women Migrant Workers Justified in Theory? A Response to Patti Lenard," commentary for The Ethics of Migration Policy Dilemmas Project, Migration Policy Center, European University Institute.
Karl Kingsley, Melissa Solomon Kornhaber, Taylor Florence, and Trexton Davis (all Dental) recently published their manuscript, "Assessment of Oral Human Papillomavirus Prevalence in Pediatric and Adult Patients within a Multi-Ethnic Clinic Population," in the journal Dentistry.
Dr. Paul Chestovich, Dr. Allison McNickle, Kathie Velez, Dr. Douglas Fraser, and Dr. Deborah Kuhls (all Medicine) have published an article in the Journal of Surgical Research. Velez is a student.
Dr. Tanya Al-Talib (Dental) has been elected as director-at-large for the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine 鈥 an independent, self-designated, nonprofit testing organization of dentists who treat snoring and obstructive sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy. The board鈥檚 purpose is to test knowledge and clinical proficiency in dental sleep鈥
Richard Saladino (Libraries) presented a lightning talk on behalf of himself and co-author Christina Miskey (Libraries) at the Art Libraries Society of North America 2022 Annual Conference. The lightning talk, "Research Impact in the Visual Arts," discussed preliminary results of a recent survey of art faculty and how they demonstrate the impact鈥

Dr. Christina Demopoulos and Melissa Argueta (both Dental) surpassed their 10,000th screening within the Early Childhood Caries Prevention Project (ECCPP). Started in 2017, ECCPP aims to reduce the number of children with cavities by the time they enroll in kindergarten by providing preventive dental services in federally funded Early Head Start鈥
Bridget Cowan Longoria (Sociology) was a guest speaker on KNPR's State of Nevada segment "Minneapolis-based Nonprofit Expanding to Las Vegas to Help Struggling Single Moms" as an expert in the sociology of poverty.
Soumya Upadhyay (Healthcare Administration & Policy) is the author of a paper, "Physician-Hospital Integration and its Effect on Hospital Performance: A Study of U.S. Hospitals," that has been accepted into the 82nd annual meeting of the Academy of Management. The meeting will take place in August.
