Rebels R.I.S.E. encourages ºÚÁÏÍø students to rise above obstacles and uncertainty and reflect personally, increase their involvement on campus, seek scholarly activities and expand their engagement within the community.
One main focus of Rebels R.I.S.E. is to promote meaningful learning experiences for students during their second year.

The Rebels R.I.S.E. Scholar Program provides ºÚÁÏÍø undergraduate students a variety of opportunities to encourage meaningful learning experiences for all undergraduate students who have completed their first year of college. Encourages ºÚÁÏÍø students to rise up to reflect personally, increase their involvement on campus, seek scholarly activities and increase their engagement within the community.

Gain valuable life and career skills while networking with supportive services and like-minded Rebels.
This program is open to current ºÚÁÏÍø undergraduate students who:
- Have completed, or will have completed, 30 credits or more by the start of the Fall semester
- Are enrolled at least half-time (minimum 6 credits) during the semester that they participate in the Rebels R.I.S.E. Scholar Program.
- Are in good academic standing with the University (minimum GPA 2.0)
Applications are accepted twice a year—during the Fall and Spring semesters. There is no application fee.
Interested students should complete the Fall 2025 Rebels R.I.S.E. Program Application before August 29, 2025. Please note that the application must be completed and submitted in one sitting, as it cannot be saved and returned to later.
As part of the application, students will be asked to provide a brief statement of interest. This should highlight why you’re motivated to join the Rebels R.I.S.E. program and what you hope to gain from the experience—whether that’s building community, growing personally or professionally, or preparing for what comes next.

- Attend the Initial Cohort Meeting
- Complete the Rebels R.I.S.E. Scholar Program Requirements
- Reflection Module (Discussion Board & Assignment)
- Involvement Module (Discussion Board & Assignment)
- Scholarship Module (Discussion Board & Assignment)
- Engagement Module (Discussion Board & Assignment)
- Attend at least 1 Rebels R.I.S.E. event (proof of attendance)
- Attend 2 Peer Mentor Check- in/meetings (virtual or in-person)
- Attend the Cohort Celebration event (final cohort meeting)
- Complete all surveys and assessments
Rebels R.I.S.E - Student Success Checklist
You're settling in—now’s the time to explore, get involved, and lay the groundwork for your goals.
✅ Reflect on what you want to get out of your college experience
✅ Get familiar with key campus resources (The Intersection, CAPS, Academic Success Center, etc.)
✅ Join at least one student organization that aligns with your interests or identity
✅ Visit your professors during office hours—start building relationships
✅ Attend an involvement or resource fair on campus
✅ Learn about financial aid and apply for at least one scholarship
✅ Schedule a 30-minute session with an Academic Success Coach
✅ Begin thinking about internships or part-time job opportunities through Handshake
You’re halfway there! Time to get strategic, build skills, and position yourself for what’s next.
✅ Revisit and revise your college goals – what are you rising toward now?
✅ Get involved in leadership roles (club officer, ambassador, peer mentor, etc.)
✅ Attend a Career & Internship Fair – and talk to at least one recruiter
✅ Conduct an informational interview with someone in your field of interest
✅ Visit Career Services to build or review your résumé and LinkedIn
✅ Apply for 2–3 scholarships or funding opportunities
✅ Stay on top of your FAFSA and financial aid renewal
✅ Explore undergraduate research, service learning, or study abroad
✅ Book a coaching session to check in on your goals and priorities
This is your year to make moves and transition confidently into your next chapter.
✅ Finalize your graduation checklist with your academic advisor
✅ Polish your résumé, cover letter, and elevator pitch
✅ Apply to jobs, fellowships, or graduate/professional programs
✅ Network! Attend mixers, job fairs, or join a professional association
✅ Explore salary negotiation, budgeting, and financial wellness workshops
✅ Complete your and exit loan counseling (if applicable)
✅ Reflect on your college experience: What did you rise through? What are you proud of?
✅ Give back—mentor a younger student or share your story
✅ Meet with a Success Coach one last time for post-grad planning
