Faculty member Andre Chiang, DMA, and recent graduate Valentine Baron, DMA, (both Music - Voice) presented different sessions at the 68th National Opera Association Annual Conference in Houston, TX. The sessions were titled, 鈥淒o That, Too: Honoring Your Whole Creative Self On and Off the Opera Stage鈥 and the 2020-22 Dissertation Competition winner鈥

Andr茅 Chiang, D.M.A., (Music, Voice) recently performed the title role in Gianni Schicchi with Opera Mississippi on October 27, 28, and 29 in Natchez and Jackson, MS. He also opens a production of La boh猫me performing Marcello with Opera Western Reserve in Youngstown, Ohio, on November 11.

The National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia will perform the world premiere of DMA associate professor Diego Vega's (Music) ballet Esp铆ritu de P谩jaro on November 4 and 5, a work they commissioned to him in 2018. Dak Kopec (Architecture) published the novel "Broken Boys Beyond Friendships." The novel tells the story of three young men navigating life in the early to mid-1990s. While the content is fictional, many of the situations and circumstances are based on real-life events.
